Corsages
Belle
Inspired by the enchanted rose as well as Belle's ball gown from Disney's Beauty and the beast, this first corsage band design is meant to catch the eye of others and be easily seen from far away. The colors of red and yellow in the language of flowers demonstrate the friendship and passion that are intertwined between the two in the story. Hidden beneath the flowers is the battery pack for the lights underneath which add a mysticism and make it more viewable in dark locations like a stage, or night in a Disney park.
Tiana
This 2nd attempt upon the corsage focused or more subtle elegance and comfort for the wearer. The choice for the single flower representing Tiana's more humble beginnings and tone of the story. This time around elastic was chosen as the material for an arm band to allow a more secure and comfortable fit, and was finished with a bronze embossing. The lily pad and a light green piece of tulle is used to obscure the battery pack.
Other
Lightbox
Given a few parts, no backstory, and the task to make something cool I set out to make a northern lights alarm clock prop. Its' basic components are present making it visible and usable in a play if assisted by other theatrical tools like lighting and sound. When returned the goal is to implement LED, install an opened up clock, as well as a hazer and to redo wood grain exterior to make it more realistic. Skills used include scenic painting, carpentry, and basic electrical circuiting.
